Chasing Snowflakes

first snow

Kona, last year.  Her very first snowfall.  She was pretty thrilled about it.  She ran circles around the yard, trying to catch snowflakes, and I’m sure she could have kept it up all day.

This is my favorite time of year-there is that excitement in the air that makes me feel like running laps too.  But my energy will be spent on shopping and baking, wrapping presents, writing Christmas cards, and decorating.  Lots to do, but I don’t mind.  I love it all!

As this most magical of seasons gets underway, I wish all of you the joy of chasing snowflakes.

  1. Beautiful. What is it that is so free and fun about a dog outside in the snowfall ... The pure magic of life :)

  7. Wow. Look at you:~) Did you just get this Nanowrimo award or has it been up here all along and I didn't see it? 50,000 words!!! How did you do this in a month? I am very impressed!

Now, to your post. I love dogs in snow. We don't get much where I live, but occasionally we'll have enough to stick. We had one dog who had this wonderful look of surprise when she'd catch the snowball and nothing would be in mouth. The kids laughed so hard. Poor Domino kept trying:~)

p.s. That is a cool picture.

  8. Tina-isn't it all just so marvelous!

Sara-I did just finish NaNoWriMo-on Thanksgiving Day evening. I was so worried about getting it done I was way ahead early in the game. It was a great experience and I'd love to do it again!

Our dogs do the same thing-catch snowballs and then look bewildered that there is nothing there:) It's so cute!

  10. Melissa-I want it to snow here too! The only benefit of clear skies right now is that we plan to go into the woods and get our tree this weekend-and it's much easier to do when there isn't a lot of snow or a storm bearing down on us. I'll post pictures:)

  11. I remember that energy when our beloved dog Judge was still alive. I'm sort of getting excited about it all too Valerie, the same things, the decorating, the cards, the fun.
